One of the longest-running women’s film festivals in the world, The St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival has been dedicated to screening films written, directed, or produced by women for 28 years.

Our Festival celebrates women working in the global film, television and interactive industry. The annual five-day festival presents an innovative program of international documentaries, short films, and feature works every October in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador.

We showcase the local film and interactive community nationally and internationally through year-round events and community partnerships, all open to the general public. Our Festival is one of the province’s largest and most anticipated cultural events of the year.
