"St. John’s is definitely very different and unique. Unique option for meetings - definitely has infrastructure to handle large meetings. For groups wanting to discover Canadian history and culture, I believe St. John’s would be a great option as it offers so much history and the people are quite hospitable."
"Loved the people. Great things to do and see! I had no idea what a great place Newfoundland is!"
"It is one thing to view photos of Newfoundland, it is even more beautiful to experience in person!"
" I made some great discoveries during my visit to St. John’s… the coastal tour, Cape Spear, Petty Harbour, Zodiac Tour and George Street were awesome! I loved it."
"St. John’s infrastructure is well in place for meeting and incentive groups: a choice of hotels to host varying group sizes and budgets; a broad variety of restaurants; several historic venues and scenic off-property locations, and an array of tour options in the immediate area. Everything I’ve heard about Newfoundland Hospitality is true too!"
"The conferences I held in St. John's were amazing. There is no shortage of restaurants to choose from; there are so many theme ideas for fun nights and some great entertainment; lots of options for free time activities or group excursions - iceberg tours, whale watching, kayaking to hiking on Signal Hill. It is very easy to get around in the city and the people are the very welcoming. My conferences were held at two different times of year and my people had an amazing time. You can't go wrong in booking a conference in Newfoundland!"
"The Royal LePage Real Estate National Sales Conference was held in St. John’s, NL and it was the best conference we have had to date! It was our earliest sell-out on record as everyone wanted to visit Newfoundland. Delegate survey results rated it as the best networking experience as the city is large enough to have fun but intimate enough to find each other easily. By far, St. John’s has the most welcoming residents. From a planner’s perspective, it was the most enjoyable conference I have arranged as the local vendors went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and were always fun to work with."
"Having worked with several associations that have held their annual conferences in St. John’s, I am delighted to attest to the overall success experienced by each. From the interest that the destination generated in advance of the conference – all three associations experienced an increase in registration - to the on-site experience, warmth and friendliness of the hospitality staff. All were captivated by the beauty and the majesty of nature. And the colors Newfoundlanders love seemed to release stress. Social events were more memorable than any destination I have experienced. People still talk about the program, the experience and how great it was. The destination can be likened to a resort where once you set foot on the ground, the stress and strain disappears and you become enveloped in the life of living on a rock. It is one of Canada’s treasures – and the conference facilities, despite being very competitive, become secondary to the experience itself. I would highly recommend St. John’s as a conference destination – it will not only generate interest, attendance and success for the destination but for the association and the conference itself!"
"My visit to St. John's demonstrated to me that the city offers "big city" amenities with small city warmth!"
"St. John's is a great walking city that offers our participants easy access to explore on their own, eliminating multiple transfers. The selection of restaurants is plentiful, food is amazing, people are extremely friendly and George Street offers a unique experience all its own! I now realize that it is a PERFECT fit for a business meeting/conference!"
"Newfoundland has created a legendary perception of the friendliness of its people. It exudes a feeling which one cannot resist, and absolutely has to visit... when you arrive in Newfoundland, you fall in love with it! The most warm-hearted place on earth!"
"Our delegates appreciate destinations and St. John's is certainly a destination. I love that it's only stone's throw away from the airport and a perfect blend of city and countryside. There is so much to do and select from - amazing people, scenery, history…Any time I came to an attraction or event I thought "this is the best" and then the next was better. I felt like a kid in a candy store! I would recommend your destination for so many reasons…hospitality, history, beautiful scenery, multiple options for activities and great people to work with!"
