Visitor of the Week 2018
Tourists beware! The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) are on the lookout for travellers in the St. John’s area. If spotted, they could face arrest and up to 24 hours of activities in the capital city.
The Visitor of The Week program started many years ago as a joint venture between The Kiwanis Foundation, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) and the City of St. John’s. The RNC will “arrest” a visitor and then bring them to a special meeting where they can share a coffee, a snack and a photo with our Mayor. Afterwards the Mayor will present them with a goodie bag full of local treats and it’s off to explore St. John’s with their personal tour guide. Throughout the day, traveller’s will visit some of our famed tourist attractions like The Johnson Geo Centre, The Railway Coastal Museum and The Rooms; followed by the best fish and chips in town at Ches’s Famous Fish & Chips.
Travelling to St. John’s next summer? Be on the lookout, or you could be next!
