Free Yoga in Victoria Park

Take a deep breath of sea air and join Modo Yoga for a free yoga session in Victoria Park.

WHEN:2-3 P.M.
WHERE: Victoria Park. Located in the West End of St. John’s between Water St. and Hamilton Ave, Sudbury St. and Alexander St. Parking is available along Sudbury St. and classes will be held near the pool house.

Victoria Park classes are for all levels, all ages and abilities, and first timers are welcome! Bring your yoga mat, sunscreen and a sense of adventure and love for the outdoors. Children and friendly pets are welcome!

Bird Watching & Nature Trail Walk

Take a guided walk on the Gardens’ nature trails with a Friend of the Garden volunteer and learn about Newfoundland birds.

WHEN: 8-10 A.M.
WHERE: MUN Botanical Gardens, 306 Mt Scio Rd. St. John’s.

Please meet in the parking lot across the road from the main gate. The group leaves promptly on time, so please be there a few minutes early. Binoculars are helpful and comfortable footwear is essential. Walks usually last 1.5 – 2 hours. Newcomers are welcome.

This program is offered by volunteers. Please check if the program is going ahead by calling the Garden the day before the program at 864-8590 (between 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. or 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sept. & Oct.). There is no fee to go on this guided walk.

Get those guitars tuned and voices ready! Every Sunday in May & June Dave Rowe from O’Brien’s Music Inc. will be hosting a Youth Open Mic here in the Orbit Room at Rocket Bakery.

Be the first in the country to celebrate Canada Day!

Join us and the City of St. John’s to commemorate Memorial Day and celebrate Canada Day! Watch the sun break through the clouds as the last post plays, sing O Canada, wave our flag and have a cupcake. This is a great opportunity to gather and remember what it means to be Canadian.

WHEN: 6:00 am – 7:00 am
Sunrise Event, Signal Hill upper parking lot (adjacent to Cabot Tower)

7:00 am – 8:00 am
Canada Day cupcakes and cake, Signal Hill Visitor Centre

WHERE:Signal Hill, 230 Signal Hill Rd. St. John’s.

A free Metrobus shuttle will be operating between the Visitor Centre and Cabot Tower starting at 5:15 am.

Drop by MUN Botanical Garden to enjoy their Canada Day Celebrations. A variety of crafts, activities, and duck-feeding will take place throughout the day.

Pick up your swag and activity bag at the Visitor Services desk: Create a one-of-a-kind Canada Day butterfly, follow the Maple leaf trail, go on a Canada Day scavenger hunt, find the hidden butterflies in the flower gardens, and enjoy some Canada Day birthday cake served starting at 11am. All items are while supplies last.

Admission fees apply. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
