Fridays from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on the Dock, or attend a special session at a local heritage sites! See the class schedule below.

Urban Drawing on the Dock is a flexible series of classes where students can choose to participate once, twice, or every session offered! Instructor Tracy Nixon will teach you how to create an artistic representation of the physical aspects of an urban area.

For each class students will learn how to draw simple to complex buildings, while paying attention to perspective, shapes/forms, mark making techniques, and understanding the effects of light sources for realistic shading, all the while enjoying some time outdoors. The course will focus on sketching a variety of man-made buildings/structures in the Quidi Vidi area, starting with graphite pencil and working our way up to pen and ink, finally adding colour. No prior drawing experience is necessary, this course is aimed towards beginners and any students interested in learning how to sketch urban landscapes.

This will be an outdoor class weather permitting, we will move inside the Artisan Studios during rainy weather.
