Join us once again this July 1st for free admission to observe Memorial Day at The Rooms. In the spirit of community giving, bring along a non-perishable food item to donate to the Community Food Sharing Association.
Spend some time in the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Gallery to meet descendants of the men and women who served their country 100 years ago. Hear the heart-warming and heart-breaking stories from the people who remember the Great War’s effects on their family.
For this day only, visit the Archives on Level 3 to see our copy of The Newfoundland Book of Remembrance which commemorates the men and women of Newfoundland who gave their lives in both the First and Second World Wars. This recent acquisition was donated by Speaker of the Senate, Senator George J. Furey.
From 12pm – 2pm, a Newfoundland Dog will meet you at our front steps and then come inside to see the display on Sable Chief, the Newfoundland Dog Mascot of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.
Anytime during the day, bring in your family to make your own flowers of remembrance with the staff from Admiralty House Museum. Don’t forget to make a Canadian Flag in celebration of Canada Day!
At 1pm sing along in our remembrance-themed Instant Choir brought to us by Growing The Voices: Festival 500.
