The hustle and bustle of the holiday season has officially hit the city and, with less than a month to go until the big guy gets here, it’s time to start checking names off your list. With beautiful and unique gifts from our province’s talented artists and makers, these 12 local spots have your gift-giving covered.

Fair trade brands, local limited edition jewelry, sparkly Christmas brooches, handmade felt ornaments, cross stitching kits, Christmas hook pillows, botanical bath products and much more line Posie Row and Co’s four floors of shops.

Gift Shop at The Rooms

9 Bonaventure Avenue

For loved ones away this Christmas, why not give them a piece of home with locally-inspired gifts? For the foodie in your life, choose from a wide variety of locally made products like jams, sea salt, and beer vinegar, as well as traditional NL cookbooks! Meanwhile, rug hooking and cross stitching kits that feature icebergs, blue jays, and maple leaves, just may be the perfect gift for the crafter in your life.

4 Whink - image

Whink

8 Rowan Street

Whink is anything but a typical gift shop. Instead, they offer beautiful and unique “art, jewelry, and things” which includes plenty of locally made items. Looking for a row house themed gift? Shop coasters, wine glasses, pins, candles, glass artwork, and even tea cups and pots! Shopping for someone with a sweeth tooth? Chocolate covered jam jams from Aunt Sarah’s Chocolate Shop have been flying off the Whink shelves.

10 Adelaide’s Honey Bee, Pollinator, and Wildflower Reserve - image

Adelaide’s Honey Bee, Pollinator, and Wildflower Reserve

274 Back Line

Here’s an idea that’s sure to get them buzzing. Adelaide’s delicious natural local honey is artisanal and micro harvested by low-impact beekeepers. Honey jars come in three sizes: mini, medium, and large. There’s also an even larger honey bear available for those who just can’t get enough! While Adelaide’s honeybee hike runs from June 1 to October 15, the team also teaches beekeeping and is currently offering their “Become a Beekeeper” program!

Resource Centre for the Arts - LSPU Hall

3 Victoria Street

Looking for something a little different to give this year? Tickets to an amazing local performance, like Penning the Carol or Sea Sick, might just do the trick! Purchase tickets in advance to give as a gift or choose to enjoy the experience together! Another option is to check out LSPU Hall’s recently launched seat campaign. Purchase a seat in the mainstage theatre and have a plaque on the arm of the seat with a dedication of your choice.
