Once you’ve settled into your downtown hotel, enjoy a walk through the historic district of Jelly Bean Houses, head for the pubs on George Street or hike Signal Hill’s North Head Trail. It’s your first day to explore St. John’s and there is so much to discover!

Day 2

It’s your first full day in this historic city and it’s time to be get acquainted with it and its surroundings, including Cape Spear, the most Easterly point in North America. Next you will be whisked away for a scenic drive that follows the rugged coastline of Newfoundland. You’ll visit bays, beaches, cliffs and coves in outport communities north of St. John’s while learning about the folklore, humour, and deep-rooted culture of the Newfoundland people along the way.

Day 3

It’s time to go back in history and take a run ‘Up’ the Southern Shore, also known as the the Irish Loop. Along this winding roadway you’ll pass through colourful fishing communities, drive past scenic outports and enjoy the coastal view. You’ll make plenty of stops to snap a few photos and be told a tall tale or two including the historic past of the Colony of the Avalon – one of the world’s most unique migrations when a single mass of 18th century Irish and English citizens laid the foundation upon which Newfoundland’s culture was derived.

Day 4

It’s time to put on your pirate boots and get ready for a day of discovery. Today you’ll head out ‘Around the Bay’ to explore the shores of Conception Bay. Walk pebble beaches, see shipwrecks, visit pirate havens and explore colorful villages. You’ll have a chance to have a yarn (chat) with the locals, enjoy homemade food, and hear the sounds and music that make Newfoundland such a special place to live and visit.

All good things must come to an end and so you will bid a fond farewell to our newest yet oldest province. As you head homeward it will be with many delightful memories of an authentic Newfoundland experience that you will treasure for years.
