As the Destination Management Organization, we provide complimentary services to assist in bringing your meetings, conventions, tour groups and events to St. John’s. We will assist with hotel availability searches, all-inclusive destination proposals, presentations, collateral support, sites and Familiarization trips to name a few. Our goal is to provide you with the right tools during the planning process and to connect you with a team of professionals that will create an unforgettable group experience for your clients.

Comprehensive Bid Presentation

Destination St. John’s provides customized information that presents the destination as a choice meeting site. We focus on accommodations, meeting facilities, support services, fine dining, distinctive entertainment opportunities, accessibility, transportation, and unique venues that are geared to meet your organization’s specific needs. Our bid presentation material will give decision makers a comprehensive view of what St. John’s and Eastern Newfoundland has to offer including many one of a kind experiences that will entice people to attend your convention or meeting. This material can be supplemented with multi-media presentation support, slides, and a number of other promotional items.

Space Availability Search

With just one call to us, we will check space availability in all major hotels and meeting facilities in St. John’s for you. We offer a complimentary, timesaving service, whereby a request for proposal is issued to properties that meet your specific requirements. You will receive quotations on group guest room blocks, meeting space and other required services. The proposals (or simply notification of space availability) can be e-mailed, faxed, or mailed directly to you by our partners. Or, if you prefer, Destination St. John’s can act as a liaison to summarize the proposals for you.

Site Inspections

With direction from you, Destination St. John’s co-ordinates a full site inspection of all hotels and facilities you are considering. We can suggest itineraries and book appointments with the key management contacts at each property and arrange for transportation during your stay. Our goal is to ensure you meet the right people, get answers to all of your questions and get all the information you need to make your decision to bring your convention or meeting to one of the most unique destinations in North America.

Rolling out the Welcome Mat

We shout it from the roof tops when a group comes to town. Ok, not really but we sure do make a group feel welcome. The City of St. John’s in partnership with downtown proprietors display personalized conference welcome signs in their windows. Some shopkeepers offer discounts to those wearing their delegate badges. It is not unusual to see participants get their photos taken in front of brightly painted store fronts – just another colourful encounter for delegates.

Promotion and Attendance Building

Destination St. John’s, in partnership with Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism, will help you promote your conference or meeting and our spectacular destination to potential delegates by providing you with promotional literature – videos, slides, and printable brochures. We can offer a variety of registration kit materials as well as official letters of invitation or welcome from Destination St. John’s and our Municipal and Provincial governments.

Great Ideas for Pre- and Post-Convention Travel

In addition to our many city attractions, there are countless pre and post convention options and packages available for your delegates. Witness some of our thousands of kilometres of incredible coastline, visit unspoiled beaches or go sea kayaking & whale watching. Have your delegate lose their breath looking at mammoth icebergs that are so close you can almost touch them! Visit one of our provincial museums; enjoy a night of theatre, tour scenic historic sites, and stay in quaint bed & breakfasts throughout Eastern Newfoundland. Taste the fresh air our coastal location has to offer while hiking the world-renowned East Coast Trail. Destination St. John’s can introduce you to companies who specialize in preparing these packages for group and individual travel.

Incentive Travel

When planning an incentive program for your organization or planning a first class program to sell to your clients, Destination St. John’s is here to help you develop the itinerary that will turn potential clients into customers and employees into family!

Imagine, beginning your day dining at the most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear National Historic Site. Then travel by helicopter to tour icebergs that have traveled from Greenland to visit our shores.

Spend an afternoon sea kayaking alongside our gentle giants, the humpback whales, and marvel at scenery, best experienced, not told. Explore hidden sea caves; view the awesome wonder of sea spouts and paddle besides cascading waterfalls. Then come ashore to a small long-deserted island to enjoy the freshest lobster you’ve ever eaten and breathe in the purist of air and end the day at a spa where your wish is their command.

With first class accommodations and services let Destination St. John’s put you in touch with people who will make this only the beginning of your adventure.
