Featuring award winning Inuk Soprano Deantha Edmunds, with special guest performances by Annabelle Edmunds-Ramsay, Kilautiup Songuninga, Mason Dicker, Kendra Jacque, Darlene Holwell, and a special performance from our community Inuit Choir! Accompanied by Tom Gordon.
Following the performance, at 7pm, there will be a neighbourhood tree lighting on the front steps, with a community singalong, and Christmas treats!

This event is a partnership between First Light Friendship Centre and Cochrane Street United Church, and made possible by the support of the Government of Canada, ArtsNL, and the City of St. John’s.

Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries are accepted at the door. Donations go directly to tenants of First Light’s Indigenous-priority affordable housing units.

Parking: We are located in the heart of Downtown St. John’s at 81 Cochrane Street, and there is no dedicated parking lot. For blue-zone pass holders, there is one accessible parking space on the ramp that leads up to the front doors.

Accessibility: Although we strive to be fully accessible in the future, there are some features of our building that may be challenging to navigate for some audience members. There is a ramp up to the main door and washroom. The floor seating is all one level and there is one row with extra leg room that we designate as “accessible seating” because it has more room for placement of mobility aids. Not all doors are button-operated. Please note that the balcony seating area is only accessible via staircase. If you have any other questions or concerns about accessibility, or would like to request specific accommodations, please contact [email protected] and we’ll do what we can!

Assigned Seating: We are pleased to announce that you can now book a specific seat for concerts at our venue. There are two ways to select your ticket after clicking “get tickets”. You can either select the price range/ticket type that you want (Prime Seating or Discount Seating) and it will automatically give you the “best” ticket available. Or, over on the right, you can click “BUY ON MAP” to select your seats manually. They are wooden church-style pews, and audience members may wish to bring a pillow to sit on for longer shows. A graphic of our seating map is below. Please note that seats with a white seat number are standard width (23-26″) and seats with a black seat number are wider (26-30″). This is a new system for us, so please let us know if you have any challenges with it, or notice any errors.
