DESCRIPTION
Contact Improvisation is a kind of social dance. If you could surf, do partner yoga, wrestle and dance at the same time, you would get the feeling for Contact Improv. Dancing ranges from small, slow and subtle to fast, energetic and acrobatic. The choice is yours!
Through a series of exercises, we explore the fundamentals of balance and counterbalance, ways of moving while in contact with a partner, and other useful movement patterns. Participants are often moving in and out of physical contact while rolling, sliding, spiraling, springing, flying and falling. Other exercises will explore body awareness, creative impulses, and the moment-to-moment responsiveness to ourselves, others, and the space around us.
