Getting ready for a full day around town? Brunch is a must when you are in St. John’s. There may not be enough days in the week to visit each of these brunch spots but with some offering all day breakfast why not have brunch for breakfast and dinner.

Please be sure to call ahead for reservations, where available.

1 The Guv'nor - image

The Guv'nor

Relax in authentic Old-English ambience and enjoy a creative hybrid of Newfoundland and British fare. The Guv’nor Pub is known for their moose specialties and their hearty weekend brunches. Sometimes you have a late night, and sometimes you just want some breakfast, not to worry because their breakfast favourites are served all-day long.

Every Saturday and Sunday they feature brunch specialities including eggs benedict, toutons and of course the famous Guv’nor skillet. Sip away the morning and afternoon with their double caesars special for just $8.50 on weekends.

Bernard Stanley's Gastro Pub

Bernard Stanley isn’t your typical pub. Elevating classic fare with local ingredients and dynamite flavours while maintaining the warm and inviting atmosphere of a pub is their unique speciality.

BSG offers a brunch menu from 10-4 EVERY SINGLE DAY. That means you don’t have to wait until Sunday to enjoy their Crunchy Brie Stuffed French Toast with Rum Caramel Sauce, which is as good as it sounds. And that’s not the only dish that includes rum, their Banana Pancakes with screech rum sauce is equally as delicious!

Brunch at the brewery begins at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sundays throughout the summer months. Take in the ambiance of one of the oldest buildings in St. John’s while enjoying a pint of their new Come From Away Islander Pale Ale paired with the local favourite, Brunch Pizza, which is a Canadian eggs benedict on a pizza crust. Yum!

Spend the rest of your afternoon sipping on their brunch drink specials that include, $4 Mimosas & $5.75 Jameson’s Caesars from their prime downtown spot.

Blue on Water

Some people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we like to think it’s also one of the most delicious. For a decadent start head to Blue on Water for their daily Brunch served until 2:30 p.m..

Their spin on classic brunch dishes include an omelet stuffed with brie, mushrooms, roasted asparagus and caramelized onions or try their pork belly & kimchi skillet topped with a poached egg, hollandaise sauce and a Newfoundland classic, toutons. 6 Mallard Cottage - image

Mallard Cottage

The Mallard Cottage, an 18th Century Irish-Newfoundland style cottage, located in Quidi Vidi Village, a quaint fishing hamlet of St. John’s. Once a home for a local family. Now it is been transformed into one of Canada’s top 100 restaurants.

Their fare is a celebration of the provinces’ vast array of wild game, seafood & produce, displayed alongside a vital piece of Newfoundlands built heritage. In the summer they offer brunch every day of the week from 10 am – 2 p.m. where you can try their family style brunch or order off of their revolving menu.
